MARY
ANN BELLINGALL (1828 - 1885)
|
Mary
Ann Bellingall was born in 1828, in Manchester, and was the daughter
of James Bellingall (1795) and Mary Ann. In 1841 she was living in
Butler Street, Manchester. She married a linen draper called Benjamin
Waite (1829) at St. John's church in Manchester in 1847. Benjamin
died or disappeared sometime before 1861. She gave birth to John, a son, in 1860
but there is no father mentioned on the birth certificate - Benjamin
was presumably dead and the father is unknown. Mary was living at 17 Rome Street
in 1860 and in 1861, and was working as a dressmaker. In 1871 she
was working as a mantle maker at 5 Kelly's Buildings in the Ancoats
district of Manchester. In 1881 she was still a mantle maker and was
still at Kelly's Buildings. She died from chronic cardiac failure
at Kelly's Buildings on 18th January 1885. She was aged 58. Her
son John was present at the death.
