Robert
Benns was the son of Robert Benns (1791) and a woman called Mary and
was born in Mutford in 1816. In 1851 he was living with his widowed
mother in North Cove, Suffolk, and working as an agricultural labourer.
He married Susanna Banns from Aldeby in Norfolk on 28th January 1854.
In 1861 he was living in Marsh Lane, Mutford and working as a labourer.
Susanna died in 1867. In 1871 Robert was living in Boston Lane, Barnby,
and working as an agricultural labourer. In 1881, still an agricultural
labourer, he was living at the Beer House, Carlton Colville. In 1891
he was a pauper in Oulton Workhouse. He died in 1893.
