Bert Broughton was born in Pakefield in 1931 and was the son of Sidney Broughton (b. 1882) and Emma Edith Flowers. He was the grandson of Raymond Broughton (b. 1842). He lived in Pakefield until the family moved to Nuneaton in 1938. Bert died on 19th July 1992 and was buried in Bucks Hill Cemetery in Nuneaton.
