James
Coop was born in 1820 and christened in Westhoughton on 28th May 1820
He was the son of James Coop (1786) and Mary Hodkinson. In 1841 he
was living at Dobb Brow, Deane - later Westhoughton - and working
as a silk weaver. He married Elizabeth Mangnall in 1849. In 1851 he
was working as a silk weaver and living with his wife's parents at
Dobb Brow, Westhoughton. In 1861 he was working as a silk weaver and
was living at Dobb Brow, Westhoughton In 1871, 1881 and 1891 he was
still a weaver and living at Dobb Brow.
