COOP (1822 - 1897)

Josiah
Coop was born in 1821 or 1822 and christened in Westhoughton on 6th
January 1822. He was the son of James Coop (1786) and Mary Hodkinson.
He married Nancy Bromilow from Bolton in late 1843. In 1851 he was
living at 16 Heatons Court in Salford and working as a tallow chandler.
By 1861 he had moved to Sheffield where he was living in Blast Lane
and working as a crinoline steel roller. In 1871 he was living at
166 Saville Street East in the Brightside Bierlow area of Sheffield
and working as a labourer. In 1881 he was still in Saville Street
and working as a steel forge furnaceman. By 1891 he had moved to 58
Jamaica Street in Brightside Bierlow and was living with his daughter
Mary and her husband Job Keay Josiah died in Sheffield in 1897.
