William
Eke was born in Saxthorpe in 1844 and was the son of John Eke (1820)
and Martha Cottrill. In 1851 he was living in Corpusty. In 1861 he
was working as a blacksmith in Wellington Road, East Dereham. He married
a widow called Elizabeth Broughton possibly born Elizabeth
Ross around 1869. From 1871 onwards he was an iron moulder.
In 1871 he was living in South Street, Peterborough. In 1881 he was
living at 6 Neals Cottages, Whitsed Street, Peterborough . In 1891
he was living in Bedford Street, Peterborough and, in 1901, he was
living in Grove Road, Thrapston Entire.
