LEWIS GARROULD (1881 - 1918)

Arthur
Lewis Garrould was born in Ditchingham in 1881 and was the son of
Edward William Garrould (1851) and Anna. In 1891 he was living in
Station Road. In 1901 he was working as a tailor and living in Station
Road. He enlisted as a private in the Royal West Surrey Regiment and later transferred to the 15th Battalion Royal Scots. He was killed in Flanders on 9th April 1918, aged 37, and was buried in the Trois
Arbres Cemetery at Steenwerck.
