This
is the only picture of Raymond Broughton that I have been able
to obtain - a real find. I have put a tentative date of 1911
on this from the probable ages of the other people in the photograph,
and the fact that Louisa died in Pakefield in 1913. The Garroulds
were an old Suffolk farming family but William (1776), Louisa's
grandfather, lost the family holding of Bleach Farm in Wissett
sometime in the early 1800s. Louisa's father, George Henry (1818),
became a bootmaker in Halesworth. Louisa was working as a servant
in Beccles when she met and married blacksmith Raymond Broughton. |
