Sarah
Houchen was born on 10th September 1837 in Hingham and was the daughter
of Edmund Houchen (1804) and Mary Parfoot. She was baptised on 11th
September. In 1841 she was living in Stone Lane, Hingham. In 1851
she was living in Hingham. She married butcher John Semmence in 1857
in Norwich. From then until 1901 and beyond , John and Sarah ran a
butchers and farmers business in Hingham, with a shop in the Market
Place.
