Oldfield was born in 1847 in Swaffham and was the son of Henry Oldfield
(b.1810) and Elizabeth. In 1861 he was aged 14 and was living with
his parents in London Street, Swaffham; he was a harness maker's apprentice.
He married Salome Elizabeth Emily Broughton (b. 1849) in Norwich in
1867 and, in 1871, was living with Salome's parents in Long Row, Norwich.
In 1881 he was aged 34, was a harness maker, and was living at 8 Salisbury
Terrace, Magpie Road, Norwich. By 1891 the Oldfields had moved to
London and were living at 27 Simpson Street in Battersea. In 1901
he was living at 1 Urswick Road, Battersea. |
