Bessie
Pearson was born in St-Anne's-on-Sea in Lancashire around 1866 and
was the daughter of Richard Pearson (1828) and Ellen Swarbridge. In
1871, as Betty Pearson, she was living with her widowed mother at
Hey-Houses in Lytham. In 1881, as Betty Pearson, she was aged 15 and
was working as housemaid and domestic servant in the household of
Arthur Booker, the Vicar of Sproxton and Saltby, Leicester. The family
was living at the vicarage, Top of the Hill, Sproxton. She married
Robert Fryer Rawston (1863) in Little Walsingham in 1887. She was
the daughter-in-law of Henry Rawston (1837). She was living with Robert
in Warham All Saints between 1888 and 1892. In 1901 she was aged 34
and living in Scarborough Road, Great Walsingham.
