Minna Pomfrey was born in Kirkley, Lowestoft, in 1871, and was the
daughter of Edmund Pomfrey (1843) and Mary Timbers. In 1871 she was
listed as "Minna" Pomfrey and living at 91 London Road,
Kirkley. In 1881 she was living at 2 County Villas in Lowestoft. In
1891 she was living at 4 Sydney Cottages, County Villas in Lowestoft
and listed, for some reason, as a "scholar" with an age
of 9. In the 1901 census, a "Winnie" Pomfrey was listed
as a domestic servant working in the household of butcher George James
Marvin at 34 Fetter Lane in the City of London. It is possible that
this is the same Minnie Pomfrey. In 1904, a Minnie Pomfrey was married
in the West Derby area of Liverpool - once again, a possible match.
