Mabel Mary Pomfrey was born in 1882 in Lowestoft and was the daughter
of Edmund Pomfrey (b.1843) and Mary Timbers. In 1891 she was aged
9, was at school and was living at 4 Sydney Cottages, Lowestoft. In
1901 she was aged 19, was working as a dressmaker and boarding in
Falcon Yard, Little Walsingham. She married Henry Allsop in Chelsea
in 1915.
